Provenance brings the Nintendo 64 to your iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. The N64 delivered legendary 3D gaming experiences — Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye 007, Mario Kart 64, and more — and Provenance makes it possible to revisit those games on your Apple device.

No jailbreak is required, and Provenance is available free on the App Store as an open-source project.

Supported File Formats

N64 ROMs come in several byte-order variants:

• .z64 — Big-endian format; the preferred and most compatible format
• .n64 — Little-endian format
• .v64 — Byte-swapped format

iCloud Sync with Provenance Plus

Provenance Plus adds iCloud sync for your Nintendo 64 save states. Your progress through Ocarina of Time or a Mario Kart season is automatically backed up and synced across all your devices.

How to Get Started

1. Download Provenance from the App Store — it’s free.
2. Add your N64 ROM files via iTunes File Sharing, the Files app, or web import. The .z64 format is recommended for best compatibility.
3. Start playing — Provenance will detect and display your Nintendo 64 games.
